We stand with the AAPI Community

We stand in solidarity with the AAIP community & are committed to learning how we can become a better ally. As a small business of 10 people, we recognize that each of us have a role in showing up for and supporting the AAIP community.

We know that change is made one person at a time and we are committed to listening, learning, and taking action.

Here are the steps we are taking right now:

Listening

We realize that a lot of learning can be done by listening. We are committed to holding space for our AAPI community with open ears and hearts.

Educating Ourselves and Our Team

We are reading the CFA curriculum on combating anti-asian racism and reviewing articles that provide insight into how we can be an ally as a business.

We are also taking ally-ship workshops from Hollaback!, an organization that provides resources, team training, and story sharing with a mission to end harassment in all its forms.

We will continue to research more, if you have any resources you would like to share, please post them in the comments!

Donating

We have committed to donating to Asian Mental Health Collective and will continue to research more organizations we can make financial contributions to.

Mindfulness

We will be more aware of the activity on all of our pages and call out any inappropriate behavior as well as continue to have an open dialogue with our team and our community leaving room for criticism and growth.

The work does not stop here. We want to continuously grow and are open to learning more about how we can do better as individuals and as a small business to support our community.

We understand that this is an ongoing conversation and are committed to long term action.

In solidarity,

The Mika Team
